Baba Residence

Baba Residence is an Ideas Factory initiative which connects urban youth with elderly from diverse Bulgarian villages. Participants, or residents, live in village elderly households for 1 month. As a result from the interaction between them, specific products, services and initiatives based on local knowledge and which answer to specific needs of villagers come out. Baba Residence is an open-hearted meeting of generations, of town and village. It is a discovery through senses, mind and heart, beyond the visible at first sight, deep into the cultural tissue of life in various Bulgarian villages. Main activities: • Young people will enter a new community • Youths have to live for a month in the village • After a month the youths will go through a series of challenges (have to record every bit of local knowledge for folklore, traditions and crafts) • Development of a socially entreprising idea which have to answer the needs of villagers at the settlement
