Eco BeG - Reducing unemployment and protecting the environment

An example of a successful social enterprise is the first eco-social enterprise in Serbia - Eko BeG. The company employs women over 45 who, due to transitional changes, lose their jobs and have difficult access to employment. In addition to encouraging the employment of this vulnerable group, the company is working to promote socially responsible business, ecology and recycling, as well as the concept of social entrepreneurship. The company deals with specific recycling of used printed PVC billboards from advertising campaigns. Thousands of squares of this material end up mostly in landfills, burning or being thrown away anywhere. In this Eco BeG, various high-value and value-added items are sewn from this material, such as bags, folders, cases, wallets and the like, which are then sold.
